about maia
Maia Brown is a New York City-based creative director and digital entrepreneur specializing in branding, marketing, and content strategy. In 2012 she taught herself to code and launched her first website—formerly The Chic Brown Chick, now integrated into her blog. This platform became a space for creative exploration, allowing her to develop skills in design, storytelling, and digital strategy.
Maia built a global digital platform centered on style, art, fashion, and beauty, fostering an engaged community through strategic content creation. She expanded her professional reach internationally, creating copy for brands such as CASPER and WEWORK. She also collaborated with companies like SIMON & SCHUSTER and DEDCOOL, providing editorial reviews and conducting brand interviews. In 2016, her work led to a position as a Style Columnist for The Baltimore Sun, where she directed and styled photoshoots, merging visual storytelling with editorial writing.
Upon starting her collegiate studies in New York, Maia became the Digital Community Lead for ALLBODIES (now acquired by Flex), an inclusive platform dedicated to sexual and reproductive health, where she led social media strategy and community engagement. She has a formal academic background in Advertising, Marketing, and Graphic Design, providing her with a solid foundation in both the creative and strategic aspects of branding.
She is currently the Creative Director at YES MAM CREATIVE, where she oversees content curation, brand identity development, editorial writing, and marketing initiatives for brands such as Proof, Lovers, and Reverie. She continues to work at the intersection of design, marketing, and digital innovation, collaborating with brands, modeling, and advocating for health and wellness.
